Judy Olby sent us some news of what Otley RDA have been up to this term!
At Draughton Wendy has been working on a Musical Ride with our group of children who have autism. Our adults have ridden out when ever the weather aloud, have worked on individual projects in the school and also worked at ASDAN items.
At Hopewell we started a Thursday morning school group which has gone very well. We have had time for stable management as well as riding and the riders have gained the new Grade 1 Horse Care B certificate.
On Sundays we have welcomed five new riders who have done Proficiency Grade 1 riding tests. All our riders are making good progress and enjoyed our Hallowe'en fancy dress party. Amazing how fast Witches dismount in slippery dresses! So far we have been able to ride outside and trot up our long drive on most weekends. We have enjoyed having volunteers from Leeds University Riding Club with us and Instructor Sarah from York group who is working for her RDA Coach exam. We have also applied to do Endurance riding which extends the use of our woodland ride area.
